Mission and Purpose

No Family Left Behind, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c) (3) community-base organization that employs a holistic approach to enriching the lives of those who may be struggling with various life challenges through compassion, acceptance, respect, empowerment and the needs of individuals seeking wholeness of mind, spirit and body.

The mission of NFLB Inc. is to provide total Mentoring and After School Program year round for low income, at-risk children, adolescents and their families in the inner city of Baltimore metropolitan area for a healthy community.

NFLB After-School/Mentoring program have a four-fold mission, as follows:

  • Provide a safe, caring, enriching environment for children and youth during the non-school hours.
  • Provide places where children and youth can increase their academic skills in Literacy, Normalcy and gain positive interpersonal and social skills.
  • Involve families in planning and participating in activities with the children and youth.
  • Foster positive connections between family, school, and community.

Our programs target literacy in many forms specifically, they are structured to provide educational tutoring and social interactions to help our children successfully engage with society and improve academically in school. The overall goal is to bring about quality education, social skills, self-reliance, self sustainability and training services for our participants.

Additionally, our Programs include ways that can reach out to parents:  Activities such as scheduling job fairs, computer literacy, housing referrals, job readiness, and career development all of which further strengthen the family while helping them provide for their needs. Nflb, Inc maintains an open-door policy where adults and other family members feel welcome and are encouraged to drop in.

Although our programs work to ensure that low-income children and families are served and we enrich their learning through the activities and program we provide, Nflb Inc. does not discriminate in any way based on geographic location, socio-economic, race, ethnicity, gender, age and physical or mental abilities.  We offer services to the entire metropolitan area and are currently located in East Baltimore.  All of our families are encouraged to engage in the educational and learning processes involved in our program.
